The food and the gastronomic service are positive. A beautiful place with its own style. Unfortunately, the warm-heartedness and transparency of the Gehl family has not passed on to the new management of the house, which we think is a shame. We will be happy to provide further details on request. We have always got to know the familiar feeling and the commitment of statements by the hotel management from the previous owners to a different degree. Personal commitments were contradicted in further written contact. We also lack the closeness and personal contact with the hosts.

Out-of-home sales are unfortunately not recommended. 😒 We had pre-ordered food for 12 noon today for my father's 85th birthday, as our planned goose dinner unfortunately could not take place due to the lockdown. Punctually at noon we were put off several times. The goose would not be crispy, etc. At half past twelve the meal was ready and we drove home. The food was well packed in a styrofoam box. The portion of goose was also super warm, the other meals unfortunately cold. The suspicion is that the other meals were packed before the goose was ready. The goose was also very dry and the birthday child was accordingly disappointed. Too bad: With the very high prices we expected more quality and better organization.

Unfortunately I have to write that I am not at all enthusiastic about this hotel. For a "back to the roots" holiday, the accommodation may be fine, but we were accommodated here as fitters and were already very disappointed. The W-LAN did not work (mobile internet not possible because reception was very poor) and the small, outdated television set could only be used with 10-15 channels. The rooms are already very shabby and noisy, you can listen to each other's conversations. What was on TV in the next room could also be understood. The bathroom is clean and spacious. The main building makes an outdated but clean impression. Breakfast is available from 7 a.m., unfortunately it was too late for us and we had to skip it. The service tried to give us a "breakfast package" which unfortunately was not enjoyable. I can't write anything about the restaurant as we didn't eat in the hotel. When I checked out, the lady at the front desk wanted to charge me for the night and breakfast. This could only be a mistake, as firstly I did not have breakfast and secondly my employer compensates everything, but this leaves a difficult last impression. The service, during the week, was really nice and therefore tried hard to get the two stars.

Enchantingly located hotel with a very special charm. Excellent cuisine. Seldom eaten so well. Breakfast was delicious too. The service staff and the boss, Ms. Gehl, were very nice and courteous. Thank you for the attentive service.

Unfortunately no longer an insider tip. Many have already discovered it. It is the best restaurant specializing in game meat. The service is just excellent.

We were there this week in transit. I have to say of the three hotels we have seen, this one was by far the best. Nice people, great beds and a great breakfast. The nice thing about breakfast was that you put your own breakfast together the day before Great sustainable concept. The others got a lot going on but then a lot was thrown away, a shame. For many years we have been eating sporadically in the forest rest by the lake. We like good, down-to-earth cuisine. However, the cook has been trying molecular foam for several years. It looks disgusting and doesn't fit the house at all. Who wants to have something like that in a traditional restaurant near the gates of Hamburg ?! However, the hammer has recently been read on the card: There is a "disinfection surcharge" of 2 euros per person. You have to ask yourself whether they didn't take hygiene so seriously in the past. Actually, I would have expected a fresh tablecloth so far. Perhaps, if available, the armrests will now be disinfected. Chair cleaning is neglected in most restaurants. Thorough wiping would also suffice. I'm just imagining I'm sitting at the next table (1.50 meters away!) On my main course and the sharp fumes of disinfectant are coming into my nose. Or how can you imagine that?

First a walk in nature and then hungry in the quiet forest. Regional cuisine with a modern influence in a classic country house. Great ambience, good service and delicious food; All requirements for a great evening are met. We will be back.

Great food, very local including beverages. Big parking place.

Great place for dinner! Don't be fooled by the empty appearance in the main building, in summer go through to the outside area - lovely terrace for dining. Food was awesome as was the service - more than happy to accommodate a table for 6 (I'm surprised how many German restaurants will only cater for up to 4!). A little pricey, but still good value for money (really well presented dishes that taste really good). Have recommended to family and friends

We ate wonderful again. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. Many products from regional producers are well processed here. We could also order our dessert later and the dessert variations were the crowning glory.

Great family inn, with a cozy atmosphere and excellent selection of food and drinks. Attentive staff that is very accommodating and friendly. The prices are absolutely the quality and adapted to the direction of the courts. Here one likes to come here with his family to have a Christmas goose carved.

Very cosy and generous rooms, excellent bed madrasses, pillows and sheets.It was a very nice bathroom. Gentle and helpful staff. Impressive house and nice nature surronding it.
